Featuring senior leaders from industry practitioners as well as high-representatives of Hong Kong Investment Funds Association and Alternative Investment Management Association in Hong Kong, this seminar will focus on preparations currently undertaken in the EU with an aim to ensure the smooth implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Manager's Directive (AIFMD). The European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong through its European Union Business Information Programme and the Chinese European Arbitration Centre, the Hamburg based dispute resolution organization focusing on Sino-Western disputes, will jointly organize the first “WORKSHOP DAY AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN HONG KONG” on the 26th of March 2012, 08:30am – 02:05pm.

Hong Kong ArtWalk 2012 will be held on Wednesday, 14 March 2012 between 5pm to 12midnight. Now in its 12th year and Hong Kong’s premier charity art event, ArtWalk participants purchase a ticket allowing entry to Hong Kong galleries on ArtWalk Night to view artwork, as well as enjoying food sponsored by Hong Kong’s leading restaurants and wine hosted by each gallery.

ArtWalk is a charity event and a donation is raised from ticket sales; a total of HK$5 million has been distributed to Hong Kong charities over the years and last year ArtWalk saw 1,500 participants and a donation benefiting the Society for Community Organization (SoCO). SoCO will again benefit from proceeds raised from ArtWalk 2012: to be used in their pro-active community work, original social policy research and advocacy work. Let’s meet at the Witty Street Tram Depot to start a tour through Hong Kong, which will lead us from Witty Street Tram Depot (please refer to attached map to find the Tram Depot) to Causeway Bay and Happy Valley, back to Witty Street.

Please arrive on time as the Tram will leave at 6:30 pm sharp to celebrate “Faschingsdienstag” together. Free flow of Austrian red and white wine and snacks are included in the registration fee.

This workshop will present the latest developments on EU rules covering investment funds as well as the preparations currently undertaken in the EU to ensure the smooth implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Manager's Directive (AIFMD). An overview on the implementation measures currently being drafted, their scope and purpose will be provided, as well as third country implications will also be assessed.
